My Story . Pg 31 ~ 32
Summary :
Its about this man who was shooting baskets on their cargo ship on a sunday as it was their off day . All of a sudden the ball took an odd bounce and flew over the starboard railing . Seeing a ladder on the side , he thought that he could rescue his ball and climb back to shore easily . He reached the ball in a few strokes but when he turned back , he realised that he was carried away by a current . He tried swimming back but the current was too strong so he gave up . He used the ball as a life raft . He shouted for help but nobody could hear him . After a few hours in the sea , he spotted a ship whic was busy taking on cargo on the barge . He shouted the word " TOLONG " and he was not sure why . Fortunately , the man working on the tugboat heard his shouts . He told his captain and they went to rescue this man . By that time , he has been in the water for four hours . He was surprised to learn that half of ther cargo is going to be loaded onto his own ship . The next day , he told his friend about the incident and amazingly , no-one on the ship even know that he was gone .
My reflection :
I think that this man shouldn't go down to rescue his ball . It is very dangerous although it is just a few metres away . He should just let he ball go and find something else to do . I think that he is very fortunate to survive after being in the icy cold water for four hours . Its a miracle :) .
